Our Organisation
The Mornington Island Health Council is an Aboriginal community-controlled health organisation with a Board of Directors comprising local Mornington Island people. The organisation was registered with the Office of the Registrar for Indigenous Corporations (ORIC) in 2004.
Initially established as an advocacy group to represent the Mornington Island community on all things related to health and wellbeing, the organisation has grown and expanded its capacity over time and is now a strong and capable provider of child and family health and wellbeing services. The Mornington Island Health Council has long-standing partnerships with local and visiting health services, and continues to work together to optimise the health of our community.

Strategic Direction
The Mornington Island Health Strategy 2019 – 2024 provides a blue-print from which government, health service providers and other key stakeholders can work collaboratively to achieve the priority Action Areas that have been identified by the Mornington Island people.
It is a practical guide that can ensure organisations are in strategic alignment with the important health priorities to ensure health service providers and other key stakeholders work in collaboration, as we bring into line collective approaches that will result in better health, empowerment and wellbeing outcomes for the Mornington Island community.
